  • 200g spaghetti
  • 6 crusty white rolls
  • 500g tomato passata
  • 100g melted butter
  • 200g shredded mozzarella
  • Fresh basil
  • Fresh parsley
  • 3 garlic cloves, made into paste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Sauté diced onion until golden, then add minced garlic.
  2. Add ground beef, cooking until browned. Stir in tomato puree, followed by red wine; reduce by half.
  3. Mix in tomato passata, beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, herbs, sugar, and salt. Simmer uncovered for about 25 minutes. Stir in parmesan cheese.
  4. Hollow out the bread rolls and brush with a mixture of melted butter, garlic paste, parsley, and grated parmesan.
  5. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and toss with the meat sauce.
  6. Fill each bread bowl with the spaghetti mixture and top with shredded mozzarella. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes until cheese is melted and bread is crispy.
