  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil Adds a nutty aroma
  • 1/2 cup Teriyaki Sauce Creates a sweet-savory glaze
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar Balances flavors with sweetness

Equipment

  • Loaf Pan
  • Baking sheet
  • Mixing bowl

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a loaf pan or baking sheet lined with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, panko breadcrumbs, eggs, green onions, garlic, and ginger. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, and brown sugar; season with salt and pepper, mixing gently until combined.
  3. Transfer the meat mixture to the prepared loaf pan or shape into a loaf on the baking sheet. Ensure it's compact but not overly pressed.
  4. In a small bowl, mix half of the teriyaki sauce with an additional tablespoon of brown sugar. Brush this glaze over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake the meatloaf for 45-55 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C) and the top is golden-brown.
  6. In the last 10 minutes of baking, brush the remaining teriyaki sauce over the meatloaf for added flavor and shine.
  7. Once baked, remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  8. Slice and serve alongside steamed rice or stir-fried vegetables. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
