Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Gather all ingredients: sourdough or whole-grain bread, fresh mozzarella cheese, ripe tomato, fresh basil leaves, and olive oil or butter. Slice mozzarella and tomato into even pieces, then rinse and pat dry the basil.
  2. Layer one slice of bread with fresh mozzarella, followed by tomato slices, a pinch of salt and pepper, and basil leaves. Place the second slice of bread on top, pressing gently.
