Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Make the Berry Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, sugar, and fresh blackberries. Heat over medium heat until boiling while stirring. Use a fork or potato masher to crush the blackberries. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until dissolved and thickened.
  2. Strain the Syrup: Remove from heat, cool slightly, and strain through a fine strainer into a bowl, pressing down on solids to extract juice. Discard seeds and pulp.
  3. Combine with Lemon Juice: In a large pitcher, combine the strained syrup with 1 cup of lemon juice and whisk gently. Pour in 3 cups of cold water, adjusting sweetness and tartness with more sugar if desired.
  4. Chill & Serve: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Serve over ice, garnished with lemon slices and whole blackberries.
