Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Slow Cooker: Spray the inside of your slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray or lightly grease it with butter.
  2. Layer the Ingredients: Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker, then add rice, broth, milk, cream of chicken soup, onion, garlic, and spices. Stir gently.
  3. Dot with Butter: Cut butter into small cubes and scatter on top of the mixture in the slow cooker.
  4. Cook Low and Slow: Cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours until the chicken is tender and rice absorbs flavors.
  5. Add Broccoli and Cheese: Stir in broccoli florets and 1 cup of cheddar cheese about 30 minutes before serving.
  6. Shred and Serve: Shred chicken in the slow cooker, add remaining cheese, stir until melted, and serve hot garnished with parsley.
