Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Melt a tablespoon of butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Add half of the diced onions and sauté for about 5 minutes until soft.
- Add remaining onions and finely chopped mushrooms to the pan. Season with salt and pepper, and cook for 8-10 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and thyme, cooking for an additional minute. Then add flour and cream cheese until fully melted.
- Fold in fresh arugula and allow the mixture to cool.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, sautéed onions, egg, Worcestershire sauce, oats, thyme, paprika, salt, and water. Mix gently.
- Press about two-thirds of the meat mixture into a greased loaf pan, create a hollow, and fill it with the mushroom mixture. Cover with remaining meat mixture.
- Bake for 50 minutes to an hour until it reaches an internal temperature of 70°C (160°F).
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
