  • 1 teaspoon Salt kosher salt recommended
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper preferably freshly cracked
For the Flavor
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream use half-and-half or milk for lighter option
For the Finishing Touch
  • ½ cup Parmesan Cheese freshly grated
  • 1 cup Frozen Peas substitute with fresh peas or seasonal veggies
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley chopped for garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat until it shimmers.
  2. Add 1 pound of diced boneless, skinless chicken breasts, season with salt and pepper, and sauté for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add 3 minced garlic cloves and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in 1 cup of orzo pasta and toast for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Pour in 4 cups of chicken broth, stir, and bring to a gentle simmer.
  7. Allow orzo to simmer for 10-12 minutes until tender and liquid has mostly absorbed.
  8. Lower heat and stir in 1 cup of heavy cream and ½ cup of Parmesan cheese for a smooth sauce.
  9. Return the cooked chicken and add 1 cup of frozen peas, stirring to combine and warm through for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  10. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  11. Remove from heat, garnish with freshly chopped parsley, and serve warm.
