Cooking Steps
- Rinse the long-grain white rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Set aside to drain.
- Pat the peeled and deveined shrimp dry and season lightly with salt and black pepper.
- In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and chicken broth.
- Pour the rinsed rice into the crockpot, spread evenly, and pour the garlic butter sauce over the rice.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 2½ to 3 hours until rice is fluffy.
- Place the seasoned shrimp over the rice, cover, and cook on LOW for an additional 20-25 minutes.
- Gently stir shrimp into the rice and add frozen peas and Parmesan cheese, if desired.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
