  • 6 Tbsp Butter Melted.
For the Creamy Layers
  • 1 package Cream cheese 8 oz, softened, ensure it's at room temperature.
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 12 oz Cool Whip Divided; feel free to substitute with homemade whipped cream.
For the Chocolate Layer
  • 2 packages Chocolate Instant Pudding 3.9 oz each.
  • 3 1/4 cups Milk Whole or 2% milk recommended; 2 Tbsp reserved.
For the Finishing Touches
  • 1 1/2 cups Mini chocolate chips Adds texture.
  • Red, white, and blue sprinkles Perfect for decoration.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Crush the Oreo cookies in a food processor or by using a rolling pin in a ziplock bag until fine crumbs are formed.
  2. In a bowl with the crushed Oreos, combine melted butter and mix until resembling wet sand. Press firmly into a 9x13 inch dish and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
  3. Beat softened cream cheese until light and fluffy. Add granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk, mixing until smooth. Fold in 1 1/4 cups of Cool Whip, then spread over the chilled crust.
  4. Whisk together chocolate instant pudding mix and 3 1/4 cups cold milk for about 2 minutes until thickened. Pour over the cream cheese layer and spread evenly.
  5. Spread remaining Cool Whip over the pudding layer evenly. This step should take around 3-5 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle mini chocolate chips and then the red, white, and blue sprinkles on top for decoration.
  7. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or freeze for 1 hour.
