Step-by-Step Instructions for Easy Hamburger Gravy
- Brown the ground beef and chopped sweet onion in a large frying pan over medium-high heat for about 5–7 minutes, until the meat is browned and the onions are translucent. Drain any excess grease.
- Return the pan to heat and melt 2 tablespoons of butter, coating the beef evenly.
- Sprinkle 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour over the beef mixture and stir well. Cook for about 3 minutes to eliminate any raw flour taste.
- Gradually pour in 2 cups of beef broth while stirring. Add 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of dried Italian seasoning, and 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce the heat to medium and continue cooking for about 5 minutes until the gravy thickens.
- Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or buttered noodles. Garnish with chopped parsley for added color.
