  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger or fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder or minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper or white pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes adjust to spice tolerance
For the Beef
  • 1 pound extra lean ground beef or ground turkey/chicken
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or chili oil

Method
 

Mix the Sauce
  1. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, buffalo sauce, rice vinegar, ground ginger, garlic powder, kosher salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes until fully combined.
Cook the Beef
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Once shimmering, add the extra lean ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until fully cooked.
Add the Sauce
  1. Pour the prepared sauce over the browned ground beef, stirring to evenly coat the meat. Allow to cook undisturbed for 60-90 seconds.
Serve it Up
  1. Once the sauce has thickened and coated the beef, remove from heat and serve over rice or mixed into noodles.
