Preparation Steps
- Combine all oats ingredients in a bowl and mix until well combined.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight (or at least 8 hours).
- Prepare apple compote by melting vegan butter, then sauté diced apples with cinnamon and maple syrup for 3-5 minutes.
- Thicken compote by mixing corn starch with water, then adding to apples and cooking until thickened.
- Cool compote slightly to keep the contrast in temperature when serving.
- Assemble oats in bowls or jars, topping with warm apple compote.
