- In a large mixing bowl, combine well-drained hashbrowns, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly for about 2-3 minutes until everything is well combined and a cohesive batter forms.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Using your hands, form the mixture into 1-2 inch balls and place them on lined baking sheets, spaced about an inch apart.
- Bake for 25 minutes, or until the Iowa Party Bites are golden brown and crispy.
- After 25 minutes, use a toothpick to test the doneness. If it comes out clean, they are ready. If not, return them to the oven for an additional 3-5 minutes.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving with ranch dressing or hot sauce.
