- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Split sub rolls lengthwise and arrange cut-side up on a baking sheet.
- Combine ground beef, crushed saltines, egg, onion, milk, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, garlic powder, and salt and pepper in a bowl. Mix thoroughly.
- Spread meatloaf mixture over cut sides of each roll and drizzle some ketchup on top.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until cooked through and golden brown.
- Sprinkle cheddar cheese over each patty melt and bake for an additional 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted.
