Preparing the Kafta
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef or lamb, grated onion, chopped parsley, and minced garlic. Add in spices like cumin and cayenne. Mix thoroughly.
- Take small portions of the mixture and form them into small logs or patties about 3 inches long and 1 inch thick. Press firmly to hold their shape.
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for 5 minutes. Lightly oil the grates or drizzle oil in the skillet.
- Place the shaped kafta onto the hot grill or skillet and cook for 4 to 5 minutes per side or until browned and cooked through.
- Transfer the cooked kafta to a serving platter and garnish with parsley and lemon wedges. Serve hot with rice pilaf or salad.
