  1. Cook lasagna noodles in salted boiling water for 8–10 minutes until al dente. Drain and lay flat to cool.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, seasoning with salt and pepper for about 8–10 minutes. Mix in marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Prepare ricotta mixture by combining ricotta cheese, egg, Italian herbs, and salt in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  4. Layer ingredients in a baking dish: beef sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat twice, finishing with beef sauce and mozzarella on top.
  5. Cover with foil and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
