Ingredients
  

Herb Garlic Butter
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter softened
  • 2 cloves Garlic crushed
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Dill finely chopped
Steak Sandwich
  • 1 pound Ribeye Steak or sirloin/NY strip
  • to taste Salt for seasoning
  • 1 medium Yellow Onion sliced
  • 4 slices Havarti Cheese or mozzarella/cheddar
  • 1 fresh Baguette crusty bread

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Soften unsalted butter in a mixing bowl, then mix in crushed garlic and chopped dill. Set aside to meld flavors.
  2. Chill ribeye steak for 15 minutes, slice against the grain into thin strips.
  3. Preheat a skillet over high heat, add sliced ribeye, season with salt, and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove to rest.
  4. In the same skillet, add sliced onion and sauté over medium heat for 8-10 minutes until caramelized. Remove from heat.
  5. Cut baguette lengthwise, spread herb garlic butter on both halves, layer with ribeye, sautéed onions, and havarti cheese.
  6. Preheat broiler, place sandwich open-faced on a baking sheet and broil for about 2 minutes until cheese is bubbling.
  7. Remove, close the sandwich, slice in half, and serve immediately.
