  • 1 medium Onion finely diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic fresh minced
  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning pre-mixed or homemade
  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce or Salsa opt for your favorite salsa
Shells and Cheese
  • 12 pieces Hard Taco Shells fresh to prevent breakage
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheese blend of cheddar and Monterey Jack
Fresh Toppings
  • 1 cup Lettuce shredded romaine
  • 1 cup Tomatoes diced
  • 0.5 cup Red Onion finely chopped, soak in water to mellow flavor
  • 0.25 cup Cilantro chopped
  • Optional Toppings sour cream, guacamole, or jalapeños

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Arrange the hard taco shells upright in the baking dish.
  3. Cook the ground beef with the onion in a skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and taco seasoning; cook for another minute.
  5. Add tomato sauce or salsa to the mixture and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Fill taco shells with the beef mixture and top with shredded cheese.
  7. Bake the tacos in the oven for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and top with fresh garnishes before serving.
