  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder Fresh minced garlic optional.
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder Can be omitted.
  • 1 tsp Paprika Smoked paprika adds depth.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Gather ingredients and prepare the baking dish.
  2. Slice potatoes and onion into approximately ¼-inch thick pieces.
  3. Season ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  4. (Optional) Brown seasoned ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Spray a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  6. Layer half of the sliced potatoes evenly at the bottom of the dish followed by half of the sliced onions.
  7. Spread the browned ground beef mixture evenly over the onions and layer chosen vegetables on top.
  8. Add remaining sliced onions and potatoes on top, seasoning each layer lightly.
  9. Mix cream of mushroom soup with beef broth and pour over the casserole.
  10. Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 60-75 minutes until fork-tender.
  11. (Optional) Remove foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 10-15 minutes.
  12. Let the casserole rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
