Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Finely chop the sweet onions and mince the garlic cloves. Set aside.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, add oil, and sear the beef chuck roast for 4–5 minutes on each side.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté the chopped onions and minced garlic for 3–4 minutes until translucent.
  4. Transfer the seared beef into a slow cooker, layer sautéed onions and garlic on top, and pour in beef broth.
  5. Sprinkle the smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper over the beef and cover the slow cooker.
  6. Once cooking time is up, remove beef from the slow cooker and shred with two forks. Mix in BBQ sauce.
  7. Toast the soft buns if desired, then fill each with the pulled beef mixture and add toppings.
  8. Serve on a platter or individual plates and enjoy your Pulled Beef Sandwiches.
