Ingredients
  

For the Seafood
  • 1 pound Shrimp fresh or frozen, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound Mussels fresh and clean
For the Sauce
  • 3 tablespoons Butter or olive oil
  • 4 cloves Minced Garlic sauté until fragrant, not browned
  • 1 cup White Wine or seafood broth
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream can substitute with half-and-half or coconut cream
For Garnishing
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice/Zest adjust to taste
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Parsley or chives or basil
  • to taste Salt season to taste
  • to taste Pepper season to taste
Optional Ingredients
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes for a spicy kick
  • 1 cup Spinach or Kale optional for added nutrients

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Clean the mussels by rinsing them under cold running water and scrubbing their shells. Discard any mussels that do not close when tapped.
  2. Prepare the shrimp by peeling and deveining them thoroughly. Pat dry with a paper towel.
  3. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the white wine, stirring gently to combine. Simmer for about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Add the cleaned mussels to the skillet, cover, and cook for approximately 5 minutes until they open.
  6. Uncover and fold in the shrimp. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until they turn pink.
  7. Reduce heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Simmer gently for about 5 minutes until thickened.
  8. Add lemon juice and zest, along with chopped parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
