  • 1 lb Boneless Beef Sirloin Roast Slice against the grain

  • 2 tablespoons Mirin or White Sugar Mirin is preferred
  • 2 tablespoons Hoisin Sauce Can be omitted if not available
  • 1/4 cup Pineapple Juice or Fresh Crushed Pineapple Optional, limit marinade time to 15 minutes if using fresh
For Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons White Sesame Seeds Toast for optimal flavor

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions for Teriyaki Sesame Beef Skewers
  1. Soak the wooden skewers in water for 1 hour to prevent burning.
  2. Toast the white sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium-high heat for 2–3 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Trim the beef sirloin roast and slice against the grain into thin pieces, approximately 2 x 3 inches.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, dark brown sugar, pressed garlic, sesame oil, mirin, and hoisin sauce. Marinate beef for 1 hour.
  5. Skewer approximately 6 slices of marinated beef onto each soaked skewer, leaving a 2-inch handle.
  6. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (around 400°F). Grill skewers for 3–4 minutes on each side until done.
  7. Serve hot, drizzled with additional teriyaki sauce if desired.
