Step-by-Step Instructions for Teriyaki Sesame Beef Skewers
- Soak the wooden skewers in water for 1 hour to prevent burning.
- Toast the white sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium-high heat for 2–3 minutes until golden brown.
- Trim the beef sirloin roast and slice against the grain into thin pieces, approximately 2 x 3 inches.
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, dark brown sugar, pressed garlic, sesame oil, mirin, and hoisin sauce. Marinate beef for 1 hour.
- Skewer approximately 6 slices of marinated beef onto each soaked skewer, leaving a 2-inch handle.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (around 400°F). Grill skewers for 3–4 minutes on each side until done.
- Serve hot, drizzled with additional teriyaki sauce if desired.
