Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of vegetable or chicken broth to a rolling boil over medium-high heat. This should take about 5–7 minutes.
  2. Once your broth is boiling, stir in 1 cup of orzo pasta and allow it to boil for 8-10 minutes.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium and continue cooking the orzo until al dente.
  4. After cooking, reserve about ½ cup of the broth for later, then drain the orzo in a colander.
  5. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add 3 cloves of minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Mix in the zest and juice of one lemon with the sautéed garlic and cook for another minute.
  7. Carefully add the drained orzo to the skillet, tossing it into the garlicky lemon mixture.
  8. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste over your Easy Lemon Garlic Orzo, stirring to combine.
  9. Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Optionally sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving warm.
