Preparation Steps

  4. Gently stir in the cold buttermilk until just combined.
  5. Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead lightly.
  6. Fold the dough several times to create layers.
  7. Cut out 3-inch circles and place them in the baking dish.
  8. Brush the tops with buttermilk before baking.
  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Brush tops with melted butter and serve warm.
